The Mena Housing design showcases a contemporary, multi-volume complex that prioritizes porosity, structural honesty, and the seamless integration of indoor and outdoor environments. The project utilizes a design language that balances heavy, rectilinear massing with a lightweight, permeable ground plane.
The building is composed of three distinct three-story rectangular blocks in which small apartments unit are set. By elevating the primary functional zones on slender pilotis, the design creates a continuous, shaded “free plan” at the ground level, encouraging natural ventilation and public flow serving as community hub where social interaction is as important as the functional program.
